The Research for Development Young Scientist Forum is a biannual event that brings together students, senior researchers and development practitioners with different natural and social science backgrounds. The main purpose of the Forum is to share lessons from undergraduate and post-graduate research in the developing world. The Research for Development Young Scientist Forum provides participants with insight into ongoing or recently completed ‘research for development thesis. The first Research for Development Young Scientist Forum was held in December 2006. It explored options to strengthen the relevance of research for development. The second Forum in June 2007 addressed the importance of partnership when conducting development research whereas the third forum in December 2007 focused on the contribution of development research to poverty reduction.
