ODI's Millennium Project Portal
Five years after signing up to the Millennium Development Goals, world leaders meet at the United Nations in New York from 14 to 16 September to review progress and agree on actions needed to accelerate efforts by poor countries towards meeting the MDGs by 2015. To facilitate easy access to materials relating to the MDGs summit as well as to the broader agenda, we have developed this portal, disaggregated by theme, and bringing together the best available ODI as well as non-ODI material.

MDGNet
The Millennium Development Goals Network (MDGNet) supports UN Country Teams as well as Government and Civil Society practitioners in their efforts to produce high-quality national MDG Reports (MDGRs). Through the network, participants are invited to exchange creative approaches to MDG advocacy, share good practices and lessons learned, circulate knowledge of MDG related events, and identify expertise to help with the preparation of the MDGRs. The Millennium Declaration and the MDGs
The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) represent an ambitious agenda for reducing poverty and improving lives set by world leaders at the Millennium Summit in September 2000. For each goal one or more targets have been set, most for 2015, using 1990 as a benchmark.

UN: The Millennium Development Goals Report 2009, MDG Progress Chart 2009
"We cannot allow an unfavorable economic climate to
undermine the commitments made in 2000. On the
contrary, our efforts to restore economic growth should
be seen as an opportunity to take some of the hard
decisions needed to create a more equitable and
sustainable future." Ban Ki-moon
